Hands down, no doubt about it, is when Miss Thing holds her arms out and says to me "Need a hug." *smishes her tight*

Also, looking forward to there being snow on the ground and having the day off so Miss Thing and i can actually play in the snow for the first time. Yay!! And I believe cookies will be in order.

I hope you get just enough snow to get your play day. :)

We've had enough snow to put a monkey wrench into daily operations of just about everything, since there aren't enough snow plows and salt trucks here in Western Washington to handle it. I'm not going to complain overly much though, because I don't have to be out in the stuff. It is very pretty, though. :)

Hugs to you!

We got not quite 3 inches of light fluffy stuff, just right for Miss Thing to play in. She instinctively went with what her aunt taught her over Thanksgiving to do with dried leaves - pick up a handful, grin at you and say "ready? ready? go!" and then throw the handful in the air. There are little "hand grabs" gone all over the front yard. :) Plus, she "cleaned off" my car. lol I'll have to get a pic posted. And then she had a blast making the cookies. I love her sentences. "I try it. I try it"

I'm surprised you guys aren't more prepared for snow since you probably get more than we do. We originally were just supposed to get a coating last night, but just before bed we noticed it was really coming down. Course, tonight we're slated for ice. Yuck. I'd rather have the snow, especially since I work for the next 5 days.

Believe it or not, the parts of Washington West of the Cascade range don't tend to get much snow, just because of the proximity of the Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound. Every once in a while, though, we get hit with a foot or two, but that's pretty rare (every 5 years or more). It really isn't cost effective for the state and local government to keep an entire fleet of snow plows and such like that they will only use every few years.

Also, the snow didn't cause nearly as much trouble as the ice did. The ice encrusted trees cracking and falling across power lines managed to cut off power to around 250,000 homes & business for several days, as well as causing traffic issues.

I had heard something similar about Colorado, that the western side of the Rockies never get as much snow, or something to that effect. Huh, you learn something new every day. :)

Sadly, as much snow as we get, my county is horrible about getting the roads cleared. The next county up, beautiful clean roads, same with the next county down. Ours, could get less snow than either one and have crappy roads. ah well. And yes, give me snow any day over ice. *shudders*

And yes, we do have a video camera. My parents bought us one for our anniversary when I was pregnant with Miss Thing. The trick is to not let her know you've got the camera out. I went six months without shooting a single shot because you just pick the thing up and suddenly she's in your face wanting to play with it. Same with just the regular camera. she knows exactly what those things do and that she's the cent or attention when they come out. lol

Ooh, cool! Have you considered letting her make some movies of you and your husband? Talk about a unique perspective... I know she's a bit young at the moment, but perhaps in a few years... Just make certain to find any caches of material suitable for blackmail when she's a teenager. ;)

Here's hoping you find a way to get some video of her without her noticing too much. If your camera has a remote, that would be ideal for stashing it out of sight but able to get a good view (all of which I'm pretty sure you've already considered, but I have a bad habit of stating/suggesting the obvious).

Also, I hope you have a video camera to capture some of this stuff. Miss Thing sounds like such an adorable little one, you're sure to want video when she grows up (which happens all too quickly).

By the way, I just saw a blurb on the local news about a Mom in Seattle who is now the Queen of Kid's Shoes and went to check out their web site (See Kai Run (http://www.seekairun.com/index.html)). I have to admit, the shoes on the site are so cute that I may have been a shoe maven if they'd had shoes like these when I was a little kid! And the prices on the website are definitely better than most of the online shoe sites.

Please forgive the edit to fix my bad coding. :-p
