So life has been slowly imploding around me for the past few weeks. At work, out of five managers, I'm the only one who doesn't have some sort of fairly serious health problem or severe personal crisis. I am the calm in the storm, holding the pieces together until everyone can get straightened out. It doesn't help that we have the new Spring stuff coming in this week and next, and that we've got a HUGE ass sale event going on now as well. But, I'm proud to say, that things are slowly getting done AND we have exceeded our sales expectations for the past two days... finally. Sales this year have sucked beyond reason since Black Friday.
By the time I get home, though, I'm exhausted and barely able to enjoy spending time with the hubby and Miss Thing or manage to get anything done that has to do with the computer since she won't let either of us on there even if we're both home. And until the past two nights, she has been horrible about going to sleep and staying there. So by the time she goes to sleep, I go to bed after a quick email check.
Where does that leave fandom life? Unfortunately, behind in the dust and muck at the moment. But I swear to all who gave me a prompt, I will write it for you, may just take me a bit longer than expected. For those who have written my prompts, I swear I will read as soon as I can and give you glowing feedback. I promise that I'm not ignoring you.
*hugs my flist*

on 2010-12-16 01:02 pm (UTC)Take your free time to enjoy the season. You deserve to spend this time relaxing with the family. Not that I don't love and appreciate your writing, because I do and it's fabulous, but you have the hubby, Miss Thing, and that's what's important.
Merry almost Christmas btw. :)

on 2010-12-16 04:33 pm (UTC)Here's hoping you get a chance to relax a bit and do some reading soon. No worries about the writing, that' not nearly as important as you getting some good quality time with the hubby and Miss T, as well as a bit of just you time.
*hugs you again for good measure and hands you a shortbread cookie with a nice cup of tea*

on 2010-12-18 05:36 am (UTC)If it helps, I'm equally behind on my reading and I know you posted the Buffy/team ficlet. (Sadly, I don't think I'm going to get to it tonight either.)
I do not miss retail but I admire you for being the calm in the storm and am happy you've killed your plan the past couple days.
Take care of yourself, Pol.
