2010 Goals

So, I don't do resolutions because that feels too intimidating, so I do goals for the new year. Something to strive for, rather a demand to do. But first, lets take a look back at my goals for last year and see how I did...
1. Write twelve chapters of Undertow's sequel. That would be a chapter a month, and start posting by June.
2. Again, work harder at keeping in touch with out of state friends. An email once a month is actually too hard, some months I'm so busy I barely see my husband. So an email every other month.
3. Redo our kitchen. It's in dire need because whoever put the linoleum down before we moved did a piss poor job and the pup has torn it to pieces. Plus, I just need more cabinet space.
4. Get a teaching job. Period. That's it.
5. Actually challenge myself to write 20,000 words in a month and actually make it this time. I've tried three times and the closest I got was 13,000.
6. Finish some of the WIP I've got laying around here, and that includes series, so that I can clear my mind of them and get working on the new stuff in my head that I'm refusing to write because of all the WIP.
Ummm, so I sucked on most of this last year. I didn't even touch Undertow's sequel. Didn't get a teaching job (mostly cause nothing opened up in my field, sadly). Didn't write 20k in a month, in fact didn't even challenge myself to do that period.
Things I did do - actually managed to see several of my out of state friends this year, so not only did I keep in touch, got to see them in person, so yay me. Got half of the kitchen done. The floor is gorgeous, but no new cabinets. Mostly cause in the middle of the redo I found out I was pregnant and hubby refused to let me do things and money had to go elsewhere. And I did finish at least one WIP - Wayward Angel. So go me.
2010 Goals
1. Got some more things we need to do to the kitchen - replace the stove cause the circuit board in the old one is screwed up and we don't have the book to order a new one, nor can we find it online. Plus, I want a dishwasher this year.
2. Again, try to get a teaching job. At least I am currently working full time, which helps immensely, but I want to be teaching rather than working retail.
3. Get twelve chapters of Undertow written this year and start posting in June. *crosses fingers*
4. Enjoy being a parent and making the most out of this time. My daughter is absolutely beautiful and I don't want to miss a moment. This time next year she'll be walking. *sigh*
5. To write 100k words total for the year.
Here's hoping 2010 is as wonderful as 2009 was.
