I know, it's been a very long dry spell of fic postage (minus a drabble here and there). I think Ava is the only one who has read anything major I've written over the past three months since she's my personal cheerleader for the Buffy Big Bang. So I thought I'd post this little meme that
avamclean had done a week or so ago. It's just one sentence from all of the WIP that I currently have sitting around on my harddrive. (although I may have cheated here and there to give you slightly more than a sentence) Enjoy!!
1. “Sorry, Captain Jim Webber… special ops… sniper…” She looked up at Faith in surprise. “Initiative? Are you nuts? Were they nuts in recruiting him?”
2. “Finally, people with lives weirder than my own,” Jack said with a grin.
3. She quirked an eyebrow slightly at him in question and his smile got big enough to reveal a gold tooth. Her lips twitched into their own smile.
4. Over the years her friends and family had been trying to get Trixie to think before acting, but it had always been her following her instincts that enabled her to solve so many mysteries. Making her decision in the space of a heartbeat, she said, “Let’s go.”
5. A finger trailing his chin caused his eyes to fly open and he was treated to hazel eyes pleading up at him. He was drawn in and he knew he had lost this battle.
6. Their resident gambler played the role of a dandy, but there was no mistaking that he was just as deadly as the rest of them if the situation demanded it.
7. But something primal in her had called to him and his own baser instincts had answered. She probably wasn’t any more aware of what she was doing than he understood the reason for going to her.

on 2009-03-21 09:45 pm (UTC)And I absolutely love Trixie Belden. I was way more interested in her than Nancy Drew as a kid. Probably because I identified with Trixie more - she was a tomboy like me. :D I've almost got a complete set of the books. I'm only missing the rare end of the series books.
