Daniel was always more sensitive to others so I thought he would be the one to get over the shock first and be there for her.
I don't think Buffy would be able to live with herself if she didn't have a way out in case of an apocalypse. As for Landry, I'm hoping to explore what he knows and doesn't know somewhere in the future... :D
